Frank Comments: Now here’s one that if I were on the bus and saw someone reading it, I might try to avoid attracting his or her attention. Just not my sort of creepy I guess.

Piccol78’s Art Direction: So there’s Rama in the title than you got to play it mystical; no wait; better! Indian stuff goes well with Psychedelia so make it more Grateful Death, a bit hypnotic but with monsters and some Random Escher stuff. Uh, Uh! Don’t forget to put in a Flying Vagina!

Missie Comments: It’s a little-known fact that when Asimov died, he was days away from sending his own head into space.

Well it has come to that time of year again when we at Good Show Sir need to take a break to steal Christmas presents from children, eat an insane amount of other peoples food and of course, get stinking drunk and rant about book covers!
Not to worry though, we’ll be back first thing in the new year with a round up of the best of 2011’s covers!
Here we have some fantastic Hungarian covers sent in by Gabor and River, about 9 months ago! I appologise for keeping them hidden for so long but here they are, all six of them!
Have a great holiday! And again thanks to everyone who visits the site and all the specials ones who leave comments which brighten our days with witty banter!
Laura’s Art Direction: I want stars and planets! And… given the topic, there needs to be a christmas tree. No.. subtler. Just a single unadorned tree… maybe on some kind of moonscape? And we need the human element. Slap a brooding David Bowie up there. It’s missing something? Well give the title a science fiction font, and we should be good.

It’s almost Christmas!
Many thanks to Laura!
I have been enjoying the delights of Helsinki this week and I have had a wonderful time. Well, except for the price of beer! 7 Euros for a pint! It makes me want to cry!
In honour I decided to search through a couple of the book shops here for the Finnish versions of some popular Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Some of them are just a little odd and a couple do make me laugh.
I hope you all enjoy these wonderful covers!
Nix comments: This has an annoyingly shiny cover, so it may be hard to read its contents. It’s an anthology of four famous SF works: _2001_, _The Demolished Man_, _The Day of the Triffids_, and _I, Robot_. As you know, all of these contained city-sized giant mecha and huge explosions (although only two had the giant mecha dive-bombed by rocketships), so the cover is quite appropriate, and obviously is a fine piece of artwork: tasteful, yet subtle. I’m only sending it in because it’s so annoyingly shiny.
Many thanks to Nix!
I don’t know where I’ve been for the past few days, but I found this written on the back of my hand: Blue black skin, golden eyes, brain tubes, explosions, horrified expression, spaced out look, glass dome head.
Oh wait, it’s just all the classic symptoms of reading a collection of Sci-Fi stories.
