Frank Comments: This is clearly of the 1970s, a fantasy warrior knife-fighting pose, but in disco dress, with zodiac symbols in the background. And big bugs! Seriously, I looked at it to see if it was an update of “The Radio Man” for the Disco Years. It wasn’t.

Good Show Sir’s Art Direction: This… defies convention my friend. That damsel’s clothes aren’t even ripped or even showing any impressive cleavage! But not to worry, we can save this… just wait till you see the font I picked out. No one will notice your partially shaved alien bear sharp toothed no horned minotaur monster… I think…

Sara Comments: It seems that this spaceman has crashed his (surprisingly intact) Z7F rocket on the planet of Floaty Corkscrew Mountain. I have to love his facial expression as he just stands there with his eyes squeezed shut and his feet planted, like he’s bracing himself for take three of, “the bit where I gettentacle-slapped by the angry insectoid-octopus-dragon.”

Jered Comments: It’s seriously like the artist used pictures of existing pop culture icons to model their characters. Matthew Broderick for the hero, Hoggle from Labyrinth for the goblin dude, and possibly Joey Fatone for the dwarf.

Happy New Year!
And so the world has spun, strutted and wobbled its way around the sun yet again! We’ve come through ruff storms, predictions of the end of the world and a lot of superhero movies. This leaves us though with one eternal question, will anyone find a cover to top I Sing The Body Electric!?! It certainly doesn’t look like it! But who knows, who knows eh? I am sure the year ahead will be full of wondrous treasures!
Thanks to everyone for sending in all the covers we’ve posted over the year! And thanks to everyone who leaves a comment. Oh they do make me laugh! Ah ha ha ha ha… ha!

Joachim Comments: Oh boy. Too many unusual creatures but I’ll give it a try… Shirtless man holding a puppy prancing across the planet with a flock of “birds”, on the back of a cockroach-like yoda-eared pig, escaping from laser beam shooting luminescent cilia-clad levitating mollusks…?

Rusty’s Art Direction: Lovecraft, huh? In that case, of course we’ll have to slap a clarinetist on the cover. But that’s not very striking, is it? So give him more fingersyeahhe’s a hardcore monster clarinetist. Yeahand knuckleslots of knuckles. Put in more knuckles, just stuff those hands full of knuckles. Make them have more knuckles than fingers! Yeah, yeah, that’s it. And his body and neck, even his lips! MORE KNUCKLES! MORE KNUCKLES! MORE MORE MORE!!!……oh yeeeaaaaaaah…..that there is beauty!
